This Privacy Policy explains how the SEOM8 — SEO Inspector Chrome extension ("SEOM8", "the extension", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when you install or use it.

SEOM8 is a local-first browser extension. It does not require an account and does not operate a developer-controlled analytics, advertising, or audit-storage service. Page analysis, preferences, and saved audit history are processed within your browser. Some features make direct network requests from your browser to the websites you choose to inspect, as described below.

1. Scope

This policy applies to the SEOM8 Chrome extension and its included local report pages. It does not govern websites you inspect, websites you open through SEOM8's optional tools, Google Chrome, the Chrome Web Store, or other third-party products and services.

2. Information SEOM8 processes

2.1 Active-page information

When you analyze a standard HTTP or HTTPS page, SEOM8 may read and process information available in that browser tab, including:

• the page URL, hostname, document title, language, favicon, viewport, and canonical URL;
• meta descriptions, robots directives, Googlebot directives, Open Graph information, and Twitter card information;
• headings, visible text statistics, links, link text, link relationships, and link destinations;
• image URLs, alternative text, dimensions, loading attributes, and broken-image status;
• JSON-LD structured data, schema types, parsing errors, and selected property checks;
• hreflang declarations;
• document and navigation measurements such as word count, DOM-node count, resource count, transfer size, time to first byte, DOMContentLoaded, load timing, Largest Contentful Paint, and Cumulative Layout Shift; and
• locally generated SEO findings, evidence, recommended fixes, scores, and comparison results.

SEOM8 processes this information to provide the audit you request. It does not send this page content or the resulting audit to the developer.

SEOM8 cannot inspect restricted browser pages, including Chrome internal pages and Chrome Web Store pages.
