ResumeM8 is a local-first Chrome extension that helps users create role-specific resume profiles and explicitly fill job-application forms. This policy explains what data ResumeM8 handles and how it is used.
Summary
ResumeM8 does not send resume data, application answers, browsing activity, analytics, or identifiers to the developer or to any third-party server. The extension has no account system, advertising, analytics, tracking, or remote backend. Its data processing occurs locally in the user's browser.
Data ResumeM8 handles
ResumeM8 may handle the following data when the user chooses to provide or use it:
- Resume and profile information, such as name, email address, phone number, location, professional summary, skills, links, target roles, work authorization, salary expectations and other reusable application answers.
- Optional sensitive answers, such as demographic, disability or veteran information. These answers are optional and are not selected for filling by default.
- Job-application form content needed for autofill, including field labels, field attributes, available options and current field values on the page the user explicitly asks ResumeM8 to scan.
- Local field corrections that associate a form question with a ResumeM8 profile field for a particular website domain.
- User preferences, such as the selected resume and whether completion notifications are enabled.
ResumeM8 does not intentionally request or process passwords, authentication cookies, payment-card data or browser history.
How data is used
The extension uses this data only to provide its user-facing resume management and application autofill features. ResumeM8:
- stores user-created resume profiles and preferences locally;
- scans eligible form controls only after the user selects Scan this page or invokes the equivalent context-menu action;
- compares form fields with the selected local profile;
- shows the proposed changes before filling;
